Learning Styles

Write about your strongest learning style as discovered in "What is Your Learning Style?" from Edutopia. Include the style in which you tested the strongest. If you are like I am and have two predominant learning styles (I scored 94% in both intra- and interpersonal), choose one of those to write about today. For your learning style, do three things: define it, tell how it's used, and give an example activity or two. Write in paragraph form, and don't copy and paste! Put in your own words. 50 word minimum.

"Virtue itself turns vice, being misapplied"

In Act II, scene iii of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence talks about how Nature's creations can been used for good and for evil. He picks up a flower and notes that if he smells it, the substance has medicinal effects, but if the flower is eaten raw, it is poisonous. This is your topic. Discuss objects or substances which can be used for both good and evil.

4 December 2013

On your journal document, type today's date. Review the following lines from Act I, scene v:

Romeo
"Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night
Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear,
...
So shows a snowy dove trooping with crows
As yonder lady o'er her fellows shows."
(ll. 42-44; 46-47)

What do you think about Romeo and his poetic speech? What does that reveal about him as a young man? And speaking of men and sweet words and thoughts, what do you think about men and love? Do real men express their love openly? When a man expresses tender thoughts, do you think it makes him less masculine? Write in complete sentences. The topic...men and tender expression.
